Determine if your project falls under EIA or IEE category
- Engage a certified environmental consultant
- Gather all preliminary project information
- Conduct site visits and baseline surveys
- Prepare environmental documents as per regulations
- Obtain necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs)
Step 1: Formal Application
Submit the following to Punjab Environmental Protection
Department:
- Official application form (available on PEPD website)
- Project proposal document (2-3 pages)
- Project location map with GPS coordinates
- Preliminary project layout
- List of required environmental approvals
Documents Required: 3 printed copies + 1 soft
copy
Step 2: Environmental Assessment Document
Submit complete EIA or IEE report containing:
- Executive summary
- Project description and justification
- Environmental baseline conditions
- Environmental impact assessment
- Environmental Management Plan (EMP)
- Public consultation records
- Environmental monitoring plan
- Financial provisions for environmental management
Step 3: Supporting Documents
Ensure all supporting documents are included:
- Land ownership documents or lease agreement
- Copy of CNIC or business registration
- Authorization letter from land owner
- Topographic/survey maps
- Laboratory analysis certificates
- Photographs of project site
- Consultant's qualification certificates
- NOC from District Administration (if required)
- NOC from municipal authority
- Fire safety certificates
Step 4: Public Consultation Records
Document all public engagement activities:
- Newspaper advertisements (2 insertions)
- Public notice display photographs
- Meeting attendance records with signatures
- Minutes of public consultation meetings
- Documented community feedback
- Project proponent's responses to concerns
- Grievance redressal mechanism documentation
Step 5: Fee and Payment
- Processing fee as per PEPD schedule
- Payment proof (bank receipt or challlan)
- Receipt reference number in application
Note: Different fee categories apply for EIA vs
IEE and based on project cost.
